DSL for Children and Young People (Tuition)

Do you run a tuition business or act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) within your organisation? This comprehensive course is designed specifically for the tuition sector and provides the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to lead safeguarding effectively.

The DSL for Children and Young People (Tuition) course is a Level 3, half-day (4-hour) interactive session, developed in direct response to member demand. It covers the core responsibilities of a DSL under current UK legislation, including how to recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns, handle disclosures, and escalate appropriately.

The course also explores safer recruitment, working with parents and safeguarding partners, and how to build and embed a safeguarding culture across one-to-one, group, and online tuition. Through scenario-based learning and case studies, delegates will leave with practical tools, increased confidence, and a clear action plan for their role as DSL.

Attendees will receive a certificate upon completion of the session, which is valid for two years, demonstrating their ability to lead on safeguarding in a tuition context.

    £150 for members

    £300+VAT for non-members

Please note: the DSL must be a TTA member or part of your organisation’s membership bundle. They can be added for just £65.

    Event Details:

This is an interactive course, and active participation is required to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are expected to engage in discussions and join breakout sessions, as these are essential to the course experience and learning outcomes.

Please note: To ensure a smooth and productive session, we kindly ask all attendees to join on time. Late arrivals beyond 15 minutes may not be admitted, as this can disrupt the flow of the session for others.
