Safeguarding Essentials for Tuition Businesses
This Level 2 safeguarding course is certificated and accredited by The Tutors’ Association, reflecting our commitment to maintaining high standards in safeguarding leadership across the tuition sector. It has been specifically developed to meet the needs of tuition businesses, ensuring the training is relevant, practical, and aligned with sector-specific safeguarding expectations.
The session covers key legislation including Working Together to Safeguard Children, After School Clubs, Community Activities and Tuition: Safeguarding Guidance for Providers, and a refresher on Keeping Children Safe in Education. We will also explore case studies, making referrals to the local authority, DBS checks, safer recruitment, and managing allegations within a team.
Attendees who participate fully will receive a certificate of completion.
Important
This is a live, interactive training session - not a webinar.
To receive a certificate you must:
- Join on time
- Have your camera on
- Be able to participate in discussions and breakout activities
- Attend from an appropriate setting (e.g. not while travelling or driving)
Sessions are not recorded to maintain a safe environment for safeguarding discussion.
Attendance & Fair Use
This course is free for TTA Corporate Members, TTA Partner Members and Bundle Members.
A team member may attend if they are included within your bundle. Additional team members can be added for £65 per year. Please contact the membership team to check or add bundle members.
Places are limited (maximum 35 per session) and sessions often have waiting lists.
Members are entitled to attend one Safeguarding Essentials session per year as part of their membership.
If you register and:
- do not cancel with at least 24 hours’ notice, or
- arrive more than 10 minutes late, or
- do not meet participation requirements and are removed from the session
a £50 + VAT attendance fee will be applied.
This ensures fair access to safeguarding training for all members.
