How will I be paid?
The tutee should pay you directly. It is up to you to arrange payment method and schedule with the tutee.

How do I pay the £1 payment?
We ask all tutors to make avoluntary £1 donation to Save the Children | Just Giving for every one hour tutoring session they have booked through The Tutors' Association. 

Will I travel to the tutee?
Yes. In most cases the tutoring sessions will take place in the tutee's
home. However, you are more than welcome to arrange a different venue with the tutee if you require.

How do tutees check I am who I say I am?
Please take with you on your first visit your CRB check or Subject Access
Form certificate, photographic ID (e.g. passport, driving licence), proof of address and certificates of your qualifications.

I am a trainee teacher. Can I tutor?
Yes. Of course potential tutees will be informed and will make a decision.
However, you must have a successful CRB certificate or Subject Access Form.

I am not a teacher with QTS, but I am an expert in my subject.  Can I tutor?
Yes. Of course potential tutees will be informed and will make a decision.
However, you must have a successful CRB certificate or Subject Access Form.

I am a teaching/learning assistant. Can I tutor?
Yes. Again, potential tutees will be informed and will make a decision.
You must have a successful CRB certificate or Subject Access Form. 
TAs and LSAs are often experts in teaching children with Special Education Needs!

I don't have a CRB certificate or Subject Access Form, can I tutor?
No.  We take safety very seriously and will not take any risks.  You may find out
more about the CRB certificate from www.crb.gov.uk.  Individuals can apply for
a Subject Access Form at any local police station.  Please note that a national
check is required.

Why do you need my CRB certificate or Subject Access Form?
We need to see that you have a CRB certificate or Subject Access Form. We appreciate that this is time consuming but safety must come first.

Why do you need photographic ID?
We must match the photographic ID with the photo you provide us with.

What do I do about tax and insurance

All tutors are responsible for their own tax and insurance.
